Agreed on suggestions to try them on. I purchased my first Reverso sight-unseen, and realized within a week I selected the wrong size for me. I was a costly mistake, before I found the right size fit and ended up with the Reverso Duo.

Unfortunately, mine kept getting magnetized, when I wore it on weekly work trips. But thoroughly enjoyed the aesthetics of it while it was in my possession. And also its ease-of-use, as I had the generation where you can advance the hour by a big pusher on the side of the case.
+1 on trying at a boutique or AD. Some folks find that the shape doesn’t work for them.

Regarding size, I think many men underestimate their own wrist size and think that a large watch does not look good. Wear what you're comfortable wearing, by all means, but nobody is going to stare, point, or whisper behind your back unless it's something really ridiculous. Nothing in this thread approaches ridiculous. If anything, I say there are some that are a tad too small.

It's a matter of personal taste, but I think 90% of men's watches sold today are too big.

These come in various sizes and what works for one person doesn’t for another with the same wrist diameter.

you need to try them on at a boutique or ad.

As a warning walking into a JLC boutique will make you fall in love with a brand and realize why they are a step above Rolex and omega but not necessarily more expensive. The finishing is really into the next level.

I am aware that this is a problem.

I sold all my watches last week and intended to run with one steel watch, one gold and one smart watch. I am already wondering if I can justify more if they are all JLC. Like there is some logic there anywhere.

OK I think I am getting this worked out.

I NEED a stainless model don't I?

But I also NEED a yellow gold one.

I am starting to realise that a rose gold one is also essential.

There may also be an argument for white gold.

Ultimately I think platinum could become a requirement.

Am I doing this right?

Okay, this morning I tried on some Reversos. Or is that Reversi? Whatever.

The 47mm is too big in my opinion. I think I need the 43, which they didn’t have in stock. Also I am not so keen on the available options for that size.

Love mine. Hard not to! The 1931 duo has a sleek look and I love the dial text for reverso.

in theory they can remove sales tax. But they may not be able to ship for export due to thier agreement with JLC.

They aren't a JLC agent and it's a used watch.

What percentage of the sticker price is sales tax in NYC? A quick Google suggests 8%, which sounds low.

If they are shipping out of the area, they may be able to avoid tax. You have to ask.

Bravo. You are learning quickly Grasshopper. There is no simple answer. Find one that fits, it is more important than the metal or dial.

this thread is bad / great for me since I'm looking at the duoface right now - for those already happily owning one, how does this look / feel / work as a dress watch? feels like it would be a touch thick. i've tried one on and love it but was not wearing a button up (trying to see if this can satisfy my "need" for a dress watch)

Wearing mine with a suit right now about to walk into a wedding, so I think quite well 👍

Mine has lume on the reverse face. It's not hugely bright, but it's there.

And it fits fine under a buttoned shirt cuff.
