I would be thankful for your help as I m not knowledgeable about Speedies...
How can I detect if this was an original Japan Speedy or a converted watch?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

The reference on the cards is incorrect, should be 3570.4000. 3870.50 is for a standard Speedmaster on leather strap. Is the warranty card stamped by a Japan retailer? Although the serial looks OK someone could have looked for a standard Speedy in serial range and gone and done a dial swap.

Thank you exactly these were my concerns. I wasn鈥檛 sure about the correct ref. Number. I did ask the seller for the retailer and currently wait for his answer. Which serial ranges are the Japanese racing dial watches?

I don't think a dedicated serial range would have been set aside for the JR but the mod in this thread is within the range of JR serials I've seen with correct warranty cards. With these watches you need a correct and stamped warranty card to have some confidence.

If you have the serial number from the watch (not just the one on the card) you can email Omega customer service in your country and ask them to see what reference the watch is. However, if the serial number on the watch matches the serial number on the card, chances are it's a dial swap.

The paperwork suggests it鈥檚 a modded watch.

This watch sold on eBay recently and was correctly described by the eBay seller. Dead Link/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/254326764635
Is this auction house bogus or just not knowledgeable?

It amazes me how off some of the auction companies are from ensuring authenticity or correctly describing condition or way off estimates.

Other than your own watch, what other information do you rely on to state that 77133 is too high because I've seen a JR from a very reputable dealer with a higher serial?

@ewand is correct, the 3870.50 was the standard sapphire Moonwatch on a black leather strap. A true Japan Racing is a 3570.40, and should come with a warranty card from a Japanese retailer.
