You are very correct about that! The reason I refrain from asking opinions about anything I like or intent to buy! If I like it and is within my budget, then I just get it - I dont bother asking others for their opinions.

Exactly - I really do wonder what motivates people who want others to decide on a watch for them, (accepting that in most cases it's simply a device to provoke debate on relative merits).

Well i definitely learnt a lot about both watches from this thread that I wouldn't have if I didn't ask...

I like the lay out of the Omega better, The lugs are better proportioned to the case, I like the pusher style on the Omega and the sweep second hand better on the Omega. I do think that the Iwc is great looking watch and would be much more easy to read the time at a glance.
