FS IWC Automatic from the early 1960's, featuring the c.8531 Automatic movement. The quality of IWC from this period is well known, with the movement serial number dating this to 1963. The stainless steel case measures just under 35mm, and features the original crown. The dial is in my opinion very elegant and typically understated (these IWC dress watches are sometimes compared to Patek Philippe 3483 in terms of style) with beautifully thin, chamfered applied hour markers, and luminous hands that match the lume plots. The domed acrylic crystal adds dimension to the dial which I believe to be original and not refinished (not always the case with IWC watches from this era) evidence of which is some light pitting, and the IWC script as it should be. Inside the snapback caseback is the case number 1520671. I'm not sure about the service history, but it's keeping very good time and all functions are working as they should. Postage within the UK will be Royal Mail Special Delivery (which includes insurance) at a cost of £8.00. Pay Pal F&F or bank transfer preferred. Please see references to sales here on OF:
