I’ve sold a 168.005 to buy a 168.005 :)

Hi there!
After owning my first vintage watch, which was a 168.005 PiePan, I’ve decided that it was too polished to be a keeper... so I’ve sold it, thought I wanted a 1601... but found a nice exemple and pulled the trigger on it 😀

Here is the new one which I think is sharp enough! It is from January 1964 according the Extract

Nice!!! Share your previous 168.005 if possible 😀
Here is the previous one, nice dial and crosshairs, but definitely less sharp!

Dispite of the polish, I appreciate the crosshairs more.

This may be utter OF heresy, but I think crosshairs can be over-rated, making a busy dial just a bit too much... Is it just me?

Personal opinion but I think the crosshair adds it all up to an overall better dial. Without the crosshair I always find the dial is missing something!

Congrats on your new 168.005, the case is way better than your previous! 😀

Cross hair is definitely a nice feature, I really appreciate it.
But between a polished one with cross hair or a sharper one without, I’ve made my choice 😀

i think the 167.005 and 168.005 are the epitome of timeless style. congrats!

These really are stunning. I confess to not paying much attention to them before. The bracelet is classy and looks comfortable. The octagon (?) Crown is different and a nice feature. The broad hands have that vintage touch and of course the dial. I am also a Hamilton fan and the dial has a Hamilton quality. (Hope that isn't offensive to some as it's meant to be a compliment. )

I want one now. Thanks for sharing.

They are both classics. The 168.005’s are easier to find in good original condition. Good quality examples of the 167.005 seem to be getting more elusive.

Despite the crosshair missing, a worthwhile upgrade and has a bracelet to boot

Hi all!
I’ve just noticed that there is something like a washer on the crown tube, between crown and case.
I think a did not have it on the previous, any idea of what is it?

sorry for the poor quality picture... not easy to macro shot 😀

Hi all!
