Meanwhile, CEO's to their underlings...

"Swatch has produced a product so popular that they had to use police for crowd control and shut down the sale. How can we genergate this kind of "damage" to our reputation?"

Outside of the butt hurt folks on forums, this is basically nothing but good publicity.

"Oh no, too many people want our product! And also, our corporate cafeteria steaks are too juicy and our lobsters are too buttery. I hope our brand can recover!"

I totally agree with your analysis. This is a blessing for swatch. Now even if you are not into watches chances are you know the name Swatch thanks to this blessing.
