Just arrived. I believe I was lucky to find this burgundy set.

I like getting sets too - even if it means sourcing from different sellers

I buy this 51 20 years ago, find a new one, I have use it every day at the office, I swear it still looks like new. The mechanical pencil was 30 years ago ´THE PENCIL´ for engineers, sorry, nerds engineers.

I had to double take on this thread title. Thankfully it wasn't "Show us your pens."

(sorry if someone already made this wisecrack)

Personally, I blame @LesXL for setting this hair running!

I really didn’t need another set of Parkers, even a nice teal set with lustraloy caps - but then, I probably don’t need 99% of the watches I own, and that didn’t stop me …. 🙄

I'm innocent 😀
You like the 51... I got something for the Eversharp Skyline model. Along a couple of Eversharp Symphony too
Need to repair one of my Skyline and one of the Symphony one as well.

My uncle left me this pen, is it worth anything? 😜

Seriously though, this thread made me reach deep into my desk drawer to find this:

I know really nothing about nice pens, this was a gift from an ex about 20yrs ago and has been sitting in the same drawer untouched ever since. But I will probably break it out and use it now after flipping through a few pages of this thread. And yes I recognize this is entry level and may even be considered the quartz equivalent in the nice pen family. 😁

As far as Mont Blanc is concerned, nothing is 'entry level'. Still being made in the same classic style and sold for a non-entry level price.

Your ex must have liked you 😉

My daily pens. Mont Blanc and a Waterman. I actually prefer the Waterman.

I also have this nice Cross set I should use more. Ballpoint and fountain pens and a pencil.
I recently got my Waterman out of its box - I had forgotten how nice it is to write with a proper fountain pen.

One of my favorite pens, an eye dropper filled Waterman 26 from before 1900 (with a Waterman dealer later clip attached to the cap c. 1905). I looked for one of these for twenty years. Found it on eBay.

I love pre-WW1 Watermans, particularly the large size eye dropper filled ones, because their nibs are so flexible and smooth and their hard rubber is much easier to hold than either celluloid or plastic pens. With few exceptions, they are the only pens I use.
What a fantastic pen. The tools we use matter and that is a truly fine implement.

“My name’s Spruce, and I collect vintage Parker pens” 😟

My current bunch are on parade although there’s another in the post.
For those who are interested, they’re all 51/61s in black, burgundy, rage red and teal (and all work properly) 😀

Just ordered from Pendragons a new sac and a pellet pusher to repair my Parker... That will be a first. Removing the pump mechanism will be challenging 😀

Good luck. I’ll be interested to know how you get on. I send mine for service.

I’d never heard of Pendragons. I generally use the Battersea Pen Home.

Have any of you ever tried a "Yard-O-Led" fountain pen? They are made in England, I'm surprised a small company like that is still able to continue, especially after the 2020 debacle.

I like one or two of their pens but wonder if they're regarded as good by people with more experience than myself?
