Issues with spring bars on 1479 bracelet

I'm trying to remove the bracelet on my 3590.50, but the spring bars seem to have been worn down and won't compress. Anyone ever have a similar issue / have an idea on how to get them out?? Sorry for the poor photos!

I second this initial step as well.

Just in case you haven't done something like that on something so small, I recommend to spray the WD40 (or any penetrant equivalent) into a small cup/ramekin and then use a toothpick or small Q-tip to transfer the fluid to the spring bar. Makes it much easier than trying to manipulate the aerosol tip for pressure so to not make a mess of things in such a small area. Also makes less of a mess.

What type of spring bar tool are you using @jpeezy14?

Just a generic one, but that's not the issue - the donut on the spring bars are all but gone on all 4 sides. Seems as if the last owner tried to remove them as well and just wore the donuts down, so that the spring bar tool has nothing to catch on.

Before using "aggressive" tools and methods, try using low test fishing line or dental floss to wrap around the bar and see if that will grip it enough to be able to compress it. There may be enough of a should left for floss or fishing line to grab it when wrapped around to catch it.

Just as an aside, once you get them out, I believe the correct part # for bracelet spring bars is 068ST2207. If you have an OB near you, I'm sure they'll replace them for you no charge.

That is the correct part number.

@jpeezy14 if you do not have an OB or AD near you to source the spring bars from, PM me.

Try doing it with the watch in a vertical position. It might help to free the spring bar easier.

I remembered that I had a hard time with my 3592.50 as well. It turned out the spring bars were bent slightly in my case.

If nothing works, then I second going to OB or AD 😀

Hope you were able to remove them by following suggestions above! If cannot do it yourself an Omega AD or any competent watchmen should be able to do it for you
