Love the blued hands- and a user friendly adjustment!!! That’s awesome!
I love the accessible adjustment as well. Is/was that a common thing?

I've noticed my older watches can run a hair faster or slower during different seasons. Likely due to the lube being thinned by hot weather and gelling in cold weather.
I suspect the external adjustment was meant to compensate for that rather than wear or need for a proper service.
Also opportunity for positional error when left overnight on a night stand would vary according to the user's personal habits. A tiny variation would be due to the activity level of the user. I've found when I take a long nap while wearing a watch a couple of my watches will gain or lose several seconds while I slept even though while I remain fairly active all day they are dead on to the second for 12-18 hours or so.
I've been experimenting with finding a position for each watch which will reduce or eliminate overnight positional error.
I know I'm expecting too much from these older mid level quality watches.

£30. I don't know anything about Huntana but I reckoned a working 25 jewel automatic watch in a fully stainless steel case in this kind of condition was probably worth it. I'm not crazy about the patina and the winding is a little gritty but I can see myself wearing it from time to time. If anyone can tell me anything about the brand or the movement I'd be interested and grateful.

This late 1960s Benrus series 3061 is another “bonus” watch included in an auction lot of seven watches I purchased for one specific watch....the entire lot cost less than $50.

The 3061 series was Benrus’s attempt to leverage the ETA 2372 powered military watches it was producing for the US government at the time. Two models of the ETA 2372 series 3061s were produced for the civilian market. The model other than mine was very close in design to the military version - i.e., black 12 and 24 hour dial. They differed from the military version in that the cases were thinner and the tops were polished, as opposed to the military versions which had a matt finish. As with the military models, both civilian models made use of monocoque cases. Steve McQueen wore one of these “civilian” models in Bullitt. So, if you aspire to McQueen cool but can’t afford a Monaco or Submariner a black dial series 3061 might be just the ticket.

Alas, my series 3061 is not the black dial version but, rather, the silver dial version. No McQueen cool here. But a nice honest watch just the same. Cheers!

Came in at £1.35 over the limit (US$65), but exchange rates are elastic so it may be within the rules soon. it should clean up beautifully when it arrives.

Another watch included in a seven piece auction lot I recently purchased for under $50. It’s a New Haven Compensated “dollar watch” made in New Haven, Connecticut circa late 1920s to mid-1930s. It is missing its bow, which my WM believes he has a replacement for “somewhere”. It is keeping time well within a minute a day. I keep it on my desk, where it fills my office with its loud but somehow calming “ticking”.

Many thanks dear @Lucasssssss for sending this adorable little Mido my way ! 👍::rimshot::
Now I just need to find an hour hand for it, but it’s running strong and with the little bit that’s left I might even be able to see if it still keeping time!
Many thanks again, that was a lovely gesture! 😀

So apparently this is a Movado, as advised by the auction house, im not entirely convinced, but picked it up from a small outfit in London for £40+fees and shipping (so a little more than £50, but still not bad).

It has these cool 30s articulated lugs, which remind me a little of the Omega Scrabs of the same period. Movado or not, it is cool, and im looking forward to it arriving.

Also gratuitous photo of the Patek a couple of lots prior (which would definitely not fit into the price bracket of this thread)

Posted this on the bargain thread too, but picked this up last week for $26 shipped off of the 'bay. All stainless case, and 39mm not including the crown. Obviously I had it off by 12 hours as it was doing time change when this was taken. A Kaltron Automatic "20 ATM tested".

I will most definitely ensure it is taken care of and ready to run for another 100 years!

Received as a gift but I do know it cost less than £50 and that was b.n.i.b. 🥰
