That is definitely not a box belonging to the PO.

It's quite possible the original owner was offered the much nicer wooden box when they bought the watch.
My Rail Master came in exactly the same box (which was the standard box for the RM I believe).

Thanks for the reply. What about the reference and the bracelet not matching? Is that normal? Is it something like the buyer negotiate ate the AD to change it sometimes? Saying that watch and bracelet are genuine even if not matching the reference, does this reduce the value of the watch? Thanks

The owner may have upgraded to a bracelet that suited their tastes. The bracelet costs more than a strap so it doesn't lower the value of the watch

I wouldn't worry about it as long as the watch reference is correct and the bracelet is an original Omega.

You don't have to have an exact "matching set" (unless it really disturbs you).

I have the same model and yes there's a gap between the endlinks and case. I don't really see anything odd with the bezel... Is there a way for you to verify the watch with the serial on the cards?
Thanks for the reply, Ill see if I can do that!

Usually these fakes come from someone's uncle.

I suspect what the OP and similar posters are doing is testing the experts on this forum to see if their fake will pass muster before selling it on the interweb as a " proven Omega," v
call me cynical if you like but that is sure how it smells to me

Hi guys,

In transit is a used Seamaster PO 45mm. Seller sent some videos before and as it is a see through back the movement looks quite original as the serial number can be read easily both on the movement and on the watch case and match the cards.
But 2 things caught my attention. The box doesn't seem to be genuine. Can someone confirm if this is a normal original Omega box? On the ads I have looked I only found the red leather box or the sharp edges wooden box. My other thought is that this reference is for a leather strap PO but the one I bought has a steel bracelet. Is this also normal? Ref is 23232462101003. Does this reduce the resale value of the watch? I want to check with the specialists here since I can still cancel the purchase. Thanks for any advice.

The pictures you posted are low quality. Do you have a better photos of the movement that shows the balance wheel as well as closer photos of the jewels?

Hi see the best ones I have. These are from a video the seller sent me. The movement serial matches the case serial. Do you see something to worry about in the movement?

Thanks a lot

The pictures are still low quality and I can't make out the pivots on all the jewels, but from what I can make of it, I do not see any of the telltale signs that the fakes have.

Looks fine to me.

Have you Googled Omega 166.0021?

Are other examples like yours?

There were so many variants of the Geneves and Dynamics from the late 60s - early 70s, love the funky styling on these.
This one looks like it would benefit from a service though

Yes, I think it would benefit too... but if I don’t know if it is fake or not, first I should ask an opinion on a omega official boutique maybe...
Thank you
