Forgive me I post incorrectly or do something wrong, first ever post in a forum and first omega, so new to all of this. I'm hoping for any advice on whether a watch I just picked up is authentic or a learning experience. The serial on the lug corresponds to the movement, but the movement seems a little... rough, at least to my untrained eye. Hoping for thoughts and tips, both on the watch and on my forum use if necessary. Thanks! Bob

Thank you for the opinion. Were the insides of the 1120s finished to different levels based on year or anything? Anything specific that you keyed in on to point to legit? Thanks again, Bob

Hello, new here and in serious need of advice. I'm interested in buying an omega watch from an online auction, specifically this (speedmaster moonwatch "APOLLO XVII" Ltd edition), does it look original to you? Here are some pics https://imgur.com/a/PWluOm4 Hope imgur rendering makes them clear to see. Thanks in advance! Edit: I also uploaded screenshots on the forum hoping for better img quality.

For sure it is a nice upgrade;)
Roughly $3k, depending on box&papers and if/when was it services.
This model smells like a future classic, so I wouldn't sell it unless it was a must.

Looks real to me, but the faded paint on the second hand means that it likely has not been serviced in many years. Some of these will start to have the movement freeze or temporarily stop until you get the movement serviced (clean, oil, adjust).

I think this is a genuine clock. Shoul I have any doubts? Only I think maybe the bracelet is not original because the engravement on the clasp feels so sharp, can it be sharp if it is new? Also the hinge on the clasp is not 100% tight meaning it ”hangs” a bit. Suggestions?

I have always been suspicious of eBay listings with "no box or papers as it's a family heirloom"

I could care less about your suspicions. I’ve never had a watch like this and he left it to me after he passed away. But I appreciate your concern.

I was refering to the eBay link that I pasted, your watch on this post looks good.
But if it is your watch on eBay get it opened and checked by a jeweller, so that people can see & feel more confident in bidding.
Only doing yourself out of a better price.

Damn dude, I believe he was referring to the ebay listing for which he provided a link, not your watch. Chill out...

    Dear All,

Can you please help me with the below linked watch I'm considering to buy from ebay? Unfortunately, the seller (130 sales 98% +feedback) couldn't tell me anything about the serial/ movement number. At this point all I know is that it's a Seamaster Cosmic 2000, but looking around the web I couldn't find an exactly similar piece so would really appreciate your help in trying to identify it (identification, dating, model number).
