...I’ve been in touch with the seller and the shop apparently gave the wrong box.

Not only that, it’s definitely pricey and the straps that come with the box probably can’t be used with the watch. And I’m pretty sure that you can get one in the for sale section here brand new for much cheaper.

    My 2 cents

About the Chrono, I have two possible explanations: 1) it’s a “Franken”; 2)it’s a kind of magic like this: mister x, who professionally sells fake replicas, so he posts on YT a video from mister y saying “I received this fake omega from mister x and it’s perfectly identical to the real thing” but he’s actually showing “the real watch, not a replica”

About the Spanish one (non-Chrono) you can tell it’s a fake from the bridge at “8” in the fake; originals have it at “12,30”

Thinking of bidding on this Constellation, but I’m not experienced enough with the details yet. Is it worth a bid?

Has anyone got any advice or comments on this CK2998 on eBay? My spider sense is tingling......... All the pictures look genuine but not of the same watch? I just a tad concerned about the removal of the watch number on one of the photos but not the limited edition number of 0000/2998 on the back, just seems a little bizarre.

0000/XXXX are usually the press or prototypes, pics taken from the net?

Yeah, that's my thought though sometimes I have used library pictures if the item is new. All seems a little to good to be true ........

Please post pictures of auctions. When they get pulled, like this one has, any chance at learning what to look for is lost.

Apologies. I think the pictures of the watch are genuine, I am just not convinced they are all of the same watch. The 0000/2998 is probably from a pre-release watch as mentioned I think I am more alarmed by the price I won it at and that the person is asking for payment through Paypal though the account is not linked to eBay in any way. Maybe I am just getting over cautious in my old age, but there are just lots of little things that don't seem right. They haven't even stated the right date on the warranty card whilst at the same time stating that all the photos are of the actual watch for sale. That and they can't start a sentence in capitals or know the difference between a and an, though to be fair that might just be done to the youth of today!..... or that they are actually Spanish, though Julie doesn't jump out at me as a Spanish name. Maybe I should listen to my gut and pass it by. Sorry for the waffle, but was initially stoked to get this watch, and now feel a it may be a lemon. I'd better spend the money on a decent Chronostop instead.

I would not pay. Why did he removed the listing ? That's very weird.

I didn't, and this morning eBay suspended the account stating that it may have been used fraudulently. So at least I am not £1550 out of pocket and I guess the 'to good to be true' deal turned out to be exactly that. Dodged the bullet :cautious:

Looks fine to me, serial number present on the lug always a good sign.
