Some of the fakes i've seen put the genuine parts on the top part of the movement so when you take the case back off to look, you're looking at all genuine parts, even though underneath its a rep. Some have that and genuine dials, hands, bezels, crowns, crystals. It's like guys with all that money and time why don't you just buy a something nice?
Moral of the story for me, I buy all modern pieces from AD's and I'm really good at spotting fakes.
The fakes are getting to the point that it is so hard to tell the difference. Good job being able to tell the fakes from the real.
There is always a tell somewhere.
If watch comes with papers and box, are those being faked too these days?
Bought a midsize Seamaster 300.
what you think? serial # on back marks as 1999
real or imposter?
Hello new members...
Welcome to the OmegaForums.net!!
I have specifically created this thread just for the newbies who come on here after they have been given a watch buy their uncle's uncle twice removed OR they have bought what you think is a legit Omega off good old flee bay!
The idea is you post your watch here and it is discussed by our panel of experts, who I might add, may say few choice words like 🤬 and 🤬 or maybe 🤬.
The will endeavour to be as blunt as possible, but getting you the answer you are looking for.
The main idea is this..
It will remove the countless new threads asking 'Is my watch fake?' or 'I was left this by my dad's dad's dad from 1860'
Any new threads will be merged in to this one as of now.
Thanks very much.

S SpinnerHello,
I'm sure you will be able to tell me if this Seamaster is a fake. I think it is even though the local jeweller says it is real
