Am purchasing this vintage Omega watch and would be interested if anyone can tell me if it is a genuine Omega watch from the photos I have attached. I have looked up the serial number and comes up with a similar watch but does not have calendar written on the face so am really intrigued to know if ot is genuine or not. Would really appreciate peoples comments.
Thanks in advance

Hello thank so much for your reply. Can ask what it is about the watch that you know it's a genuine Omega and with the dial being replaced and the hands is it still work buying the watch and how much would you value it? Thanks so much for your help.
Kind Regards

Yes it’s a genuine Omega.
The reason you can’t find one similar is because the dial has been redone.
It also has the wrong type of hands for this reference.

I recommend you read this thread as a starting point https://omegaforums.net/threads/learn-how-to-fish.52603/

Maybe the fact that he has studied many many many Omega watches, and can identify a genuine one, and also one that has been re-dialled.

Worth is up to the individual, so I can't comment.

If you've made an agreement to buy, and paid for the watch, I don't see how you can "avoid".
The only exception would be if the seller misrepresented the sale description of the watch, and only if the seller is willing to accept a return.

I would avoid if possible. You will not find an original replacement dial, short of buying a whole separate watch and you will never be able to recoup that cost, plus the servicing to make it right.

Thanks so much for your comments very helpful indeed. I have managed to cancel the sale and the seller has refunded me the full amount. Would you be able to recommend somewhere good to purchase a vintage Omega Watch?
Kind Regards

Search in the usual fishing holes and come here if you need second opinions to save the hassle of a return. Good luck
