Is this Rolex “Army” a redial?

Hi guys, i’ve been offered this Rolex “Army” at a decent price but I cant make my mind up if it is a redial. To me everything looks fine apart from the crown which is wonky but i’ve seen quite a few Rolex watches with sloppy crown logos. Were they all redials too? Would live to hear your opinions.

I’ve never seen this variation of the dial, but I’m not super-deep on this. Many have “Army” or “Oyster Army” on the dial, so I’m not sure this is considered an Army reference or if the case is shared with other non-Army references.

Do you have the serial number?

@adam78 or other members will know more.

I’m no expert on the dial, but the hands look too long to me

View attachment 609966 I favor a redial. The alpha hands I agree seem odd—they are probably later replacements. I would like to see a geiger counter reading, and how the lune teacts to a halogen light. Here are my two 3139s for comparison.

Only the number on caseback “245128”. I’m not implying this is a military issued watch just that this model is known as the “Army” as far as i knew. Im thinking of giving it a miss anyway as the seller cant let me see the movement and the dial is raising suspicions. Was offered it for £1000 but just too risky.

None of these were military issue, though no doubt meant to carry that appeal. I think you’ve come to the best conclusion, especially with Adam’s additional comment on the dial, and the fact the seller “can’t” show the movement.

I'd say it's a redial as well... no guarantee on that... but I've owned some of those...

I am terribly sorry for the stupid question but a redial is a modified dial or a serviced dial or a fake dial?

A redial is usually a completely repainted dial on the original dial plate.
