regarding the increasing number of well made fake watches ,i was interested by this article (sorry in french) https://www.lepoint.fr/montres/watc...-contre-le-fraude-28-05-2020-2377318_2648.php have you heard about this "watch certificate" ? https://www.watchcertificate.com/en your watch is "Inspected by a professional watchmaker, then validated by an independent expert." do you think it is reliable ?
No idea. It talks a lot about 40 check points, but never indicates what those are. It gives no information on who the watchmakers are, or who the experts are. There is no detail given about what the watch checks entail, such as how far the watch may be taken apart to determine that everything is genuine. Without a lot more detail, it's a hard pass for me...both as a customer and a watchmaker.
i almost feel the same specially about who the watchmakers are. may be are they probably fishing to see the market response ?
Likely “diploma mill” experts. Pay your money and get your shingle. “Professional watchmaker” can mean a part time battery changer behind the watch repair counter at a big box store who is unable to see past the name on the dial. Pay these “professional watchmakers” and “independent experts” their fee and they’ll tell you what you want to hear.
Too many unanswered questions and not even an attempt to back it with a guarantee if they make an error like you get with a car check. Bogus waste of time and money IMO.
