Is this REALLY a 3572.50?

I have had this Speedy since 1996 and really love it. I was recently reading some Speedy Tuesday articles about this reference and also the 3592.50. I believe this one is a 3592.50, since it has the gilt movement and no "Apollo 11" legend on the back.

After reading the articles, I took a look at my warranty card, which was supplied by Jim at Colonial Jewelers, who I understand was a real expert on the Speedmaster. However, the warranty card lists it as a 3572.50. The serial numbers on the watch and warranty card are the same. Did Jim make

Yours certainly looks like the gilt movement of the 3592.50 in the Aug 4, 2020 Speedy Tuesday article

Why are you blocking the serial number on the card when it is clearly visible in your movement shot...

Why do you have any concerns about this piece?

You have an early transitional Gilt movement, post some more pics. So far looks great.

Mistakes can be made on the cards, they’re filled in by the sales staff not by Omega at the factory, nice watch

I've obtained a few more Speedies, but this is the one that gets the most wrist time.

During the transitional period (1996-1997), I believe it is possible to have 3572.50 with 863 gilt movement and tritium dial. Difference would be that 3572.50 case shape is 'edgier' compared to 3592.50. 3592.50 is more rounded. Also 3572.50 comes with the newer bracelet.
If I have to guess, yours is indeed a 3572.50.

Moonwatch Only says, It was in production for about 3 years from 1995 to 1997. In 1995 its movement was altered with the addition of an 18th jewel bearing. In 1996, its PIC code was changed from 3592.50 to 3572.50.
It can be found in 3 configuations:
* PIC 3592.50 - yellow plated - 17 jewels
* PIC 3592.50 - yellow plated - 18 jewels
* PIC 3572.50 - yellow plated - 18 jewels

It goes on to say that the movement serial #'s for the yellow plated (non-Apollo) display backs begin around 48,308,xxx and end around 48,355,xxx. So based on the serial number you have posted (48,345,xxx), it would seem that yours would be towards the later part of that production series and more likely to to be a 3572.50
