Hi everyone, I’m new here. I’ve just bought an Omega Geneve form Chrono24 and it seems too perfect to be real. Can you help me ? It’s original?

    Hi Dave,

    Welcome to the forum.
I think you should post the question in the vintage watch subforum

Hi there, a lot of times you can just look up the reference (136.011SP embedded on the inside of the case) on Google or Chrono24 and it will give you some idea regarding your watch.

As you will see if you do that, the reference matches a model with a date function, this does not mean the watch or its movement isn't a genuine Omega movement (I'm not saying it's genuine either) but it's not an "Original" watch, usually people refer to it as a "franken watch".

I will let you do some research by yourself now cause none of the things I wrote came from my memory, I simply did the search myself.

    Good luck!

    You are correct!
To the untrained eye (let's use my mom as an example) spotting the lack of a date function would be a lot easier than noticing the case difference so that is what I used to point out the miss-match between the case and the dial.

Hi dave, by searching the ref number that stamped on the case back you can study a lot about the model, maybe you can the answer for your own question by yourself. Not just this but any omega ref. For me that is also one of the joy of this hobby.

The case looks like that on the 135.041 and other 041 Geneve models. I haven’t personally seen that dial before, it has an unusual logo. but it looks genuine enough. It might just have had the caseback replaced. Or it may be a total Franken made up of multiple watches. Either way I’ll bet it’s not worth what was paid for it on C24.

this is what a 136.011 looks like :
