The best way to learn about vintage Omegas is to immerse yourself in this forum, narrow down the references you’re interested in and read all the threads you can find to increase your knowledge.
There’s no one stop shop for learning the details on vintage Omegas but this place is close.
You are really helpful, David; thank you very much. I'll heed your suggestion and begin monitoring the forum closely going forward in order to gain more knowledge about this.

Ok, I gotta ask. What's your goal here? You've already heard from the people here who say that they believe it's a redial, and the seller believe it's original. This is a case of he said, she said. So what are you trying to do? Educate the seller who states he has over 30 years of experience? You think he's going to listen to you? He seems pretty set as he mentioned it 3 times in his reply. He states what he knows and trusts that. I understand you may mean well, but I think you're just spinning your wheels for no reason. I have purchased a few duds and I (like you) am still learning. Take this as a lesson learned for yourself and don't try to teach others just yet. I'm not even trying to do that, I'm trying to understand your end goal and also save you some heartache as I have had in the past with stuff like this.
Please, I speak plain English; read my posts again and my inquiries "off topic can someone with all this experience and got confused with omega watches( is it that much hard skill) and is there any way or catalogue I can verify this watch and he I can learn about Omega watches in general, than you all your guidance" I came here so I believe the respected members will guide me on this watch and how also I can learn better in the future to avoid such situations (If experienced seller with pretty good experience and got confused for any reason, we all human) how to start as new to collect the experience needed, thank you so much and I really appreciate any advise from your learning Journey to have good knowledge.

The response from the seller is what I would expect. Many watches have repainted dials and they have to be traded somewhere. eBay is the main place to sell watches with issues. Many buyers don't care, and even an "expert" seller might not always be certain. Put the watch up in a no-reserve auction, show good photos, and stick to what you know about the watch without speculation. Seems fair to me.

Thank you so much, Dan, for the advice. I agree with you. As David advised earlier, I will need to watch the forum closely to learn. I was asking if there is hope to learn about horology and Omega watches after what happened. I was just afraid that experts with 30 years of experience can get confused and whether that indicates that it is not any easy task for me. Other than this forum, do you have any advice on books or catalogs I can learn from as well and other than eBay may I now where also seems trusted and safe option for buying vintage Omega watches?

If you want to buy quick, with little experience, you’ll need to pay a premium from a trusted dealer or the sales forum here.
If you want to get deals you need to have the experience to identify the diamond in the rough amongst 200 basket cases, before another collector does.

There’s no shortcut unfortunately

Learning about vintage watches takes a lot of time and effort, I don't know of any shortcuts.

The forum private sales section is viewed regularly by members and problems are generally disclosed pretty quickly. Watches listed at bargain prices sell quickly. Also, there is an ongoing thread for recommended watches on eBay, where forum members post links of watches that they recommend, and other members can make comments.

Thank you so much, Dan. I did not know about the recommended watch option; I will have a look at it as well. Once again, thank you.

Sam, its ok, don't beat yourself up too much on this, after all $395 is a very low noob tax- most of us paid much more.

OF members will help you, give good advice , often frank, and even better give you input on watches BEFORE you buy.

Stick around, watch the recommended threads, watch the OF Private Sales thread, take your time don't waste lots of it dredging for a deal on EB as that requires more knowledge than you can have at this point.

And welcome to OF!
