"Doctor's" style. Early center seconds to count the pulse. Bulova did them at about the same time. I vote repainted dial.
It is still a lovely old watch from a very good manufacturer. As repainting was once so common, it is getting harder to find original dials in good condition, esp. if the watches were used for their intended purpose and not left laying in a drawer.
Sad they redialed it. Those are great movements. Looking to get a nice and original Gruen or Elgin from back in the day.
