There is this seamaster as an option as well. Thoughts?

This one is listed on Ebay for a BIN of 794£! Way too much, and on a generic bracelet.

Second what @Passover said. Hang around a bit, take a look st the different seamaster and Genève lines. Check the WRUWT thread for some inspiration. Get a gist of what you like first before you jump the gun and buy something.

Trust me we‘ve all been there. It‘s best to be patient in the beginning and do some reading first and develop a taste of what you like. Manual, auto, quartz etc what case style, what period so on and so forth. Take a few weeks, I‘ll bet you can nail it down to a specific reference by then 😉.

Cheers,
Max

Thanks. I have a couple of watches myself. This one was for a gift for an older gentleman who likes very simple, classic, understated watches.

A very generous gift in this pricerange! Omega certainly has some models in the understated simple and classic category.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea of gifting a Watch but gifting a vintage watch can complicate things.
I would only ever gift a vintage watch if I would be willing to take it back and cover the cost of a service or if I had the watch serviced beforehand. Is the beneficiary aware of what costs can be waiting if the watch should develop any problems, or are you willing to cover for him?

Cheers,
Max
