Not so familiar with this reference but looks very good.

Look for 166.0174 online and compare the dial part for part with the results: indices, hands, fonts etc

Could need a service, the rotor is rubbing on the inner caseback, look at the traces on both

It looks original to me too, but I take this opportunity to ask you for some info about SWISS MADE and T SWISS MADE T...some lume here but no T's, is it that correct? Thanks

About £650 GBP. On the expensive side but I would try and knock him down a lot

If you google 166.0174 you will find many others have the same "Swiss Made"

T (for Tritium) had to be used for legislative reasons -I think- to the end of the 60ies. Afterwards Tritium was no longer used as a lume and so T hasn't to be written on the dial from so on. The one above is from the 70ies i think

GBP 650 is way too much.
Esp while you have to look into the rotor-wear (as can be seen on the rotor and the inside of the caseback) situation, unless the 'service' already took care of that. Proof of service and what they did, is to be highly recommended.
State of the dial I can't tell.

Edit: to add: did the case had a polish? Looks way too pristine for a nearly 50-year old watch.....

Correction: Tritium was used up until the mid to late 90‘s.

There was a phase however where omega didn’t put the T Swiss T on dials even though they had luminous markers.(Not on all Omega Models)
The general consensus is that these dials were to be tritium as well. Why omega didn’t put the T Swiss T on the dial back then( and if they are indeed tritium or something else) is part of an ongoing debate here.
Use the search function or google: No T Swiss T tritium omega dials omegaforums.net
for a lot more information ;).

    To the OP‘s question:

That dial looks good to me! Don’t overpay for these references on Chrono, they are quite common. Do your DD and buy one for a lot less on ebay ;).

    Cheers,
    Max

What would be a reasonable price for a good example like this?

As above. They were hit and miss about using T marks but if it left the factory with lume from 1963 to 1996 it used tritium.

I wouldn’t pay more than 500€ for one of these in good condition. Patience is the key in the vintage watch game, someday a good one will pop up for a good price and then you need to strike fast. And you will be able to do so if you did your research beforehand so you can buy with confidence.

    Cheers,

Totally different watch 60ies 70ies, auto manual, barclet, lugs etc.

Maybe you take a look at the different options (references) first and than take a closer look at the available offers...
