Why don't you start by telling us what you think? What do you know about the Medicus models, and what makes you think that this is or isn't one? More pictures always help, especially movement pictures. Very nice looking watch by the way!
I don't know much, except it was called the Medicus as it was attractive to the medical profession back in the 1940.I found this watch being sold and I thought you could tell me more. Pictures:
It could well be a Medicus. I am not too well versed in thirties Omegas, but those who are could probably help - calling @X350 XJR and @Tire-comedon
I'll say it's a Medicus dating to the mid 1930s by the serial number (despite what most popular dating charts say). Movement looks to be a caliber 23.4SC which was introduced in 1936. As the Orange Haired Viking notes, two other experts may be able to provide conclusive proof .
I would say “YES and YES … BUT…” It is certainly a 23.4SC, Omega’s first centre second – which started life in 1936 as Jim says. I guess this one is nearer 1940. Here we are again with the ‘M’ on the movement – showing that it was intended for the French market. And FAB.SUISSE It was the detail offered by the centre seconds that led to its attraction to the medical profession. And different parts of Omega did refer to the 23.4SC as being the ‘Medicus’. But @Tire-comedon (already called) reckons that the first/only true Medicus was the CK651 (below – sadly with the wrong second hand – WIP!). I’m sure Yann will be along and will fill in the detail. That doesn’t stop all sellers of all 23.4SC describing them as being a Medicus (and of course ‘Military’ and ‘Art Deco’, ‘Superb’ etc).
