Hi all,

new to the community and came across this constellation and wondering if anyone knows if it’s a good find for the price and whether is original or Frankenstein. They are asking for 2300euro/ 2500USD. Just watch

What does your research so far tell you? Have you compared this one to others of the same reference?

We love to help but you have to do some work yourself.

Remember seeing this on my hunt, on closer inspection and believe me no expert thought the dial had been refurbished, the bracelet looks like it's seen better days from the rear, the case back shows the watch in a leather strap ?

I'm no expert on Omega constellation and there is a lot of variations on them, the only difference from what i see is that the crosshair on this get cut off and doesnt go throught the words which is unsual. I see for this reference there's not a lot of gilt piepan dial with crosshair so not a lot of comparison

Welcome @omega-b7
You spotted the obvious issue with the crosshairs.

With a black dial, assume it is repainted and then set about ‘proving’ It’s not.

The watch you show isn’t worth half of the asking price to a collector. ( actually a lot less than half)
Soft case
Wrong crown
Tired movement.
Poor redial.

Stick around and study some of the Constellation threads on OF - you will soon know right from wrong.

Shopping for vintage black dial on these are like walking on mines field. This example above is a no no, stay away from that crappy redial.

It took me over 5 years of looking to find a very good black dialled Constellation that was both original and affordable.
