Is this a genuine, original Omega strap?

Any strap experts around? I was looking at straps, including this one and the seller sent me an offer for $60. He claims they are original vintage Omega straps that are in new never used condition but I'm skeptical. Also, it's for 16mm....which watch would this fit? Most Omega's I've seen are around 18mm.

Most people shop for a strap after they get the watch, but I might be shopping for a watch that fits the strap--if its genuine and good deal for $60.

Thanks!

Wait a minute, you are going to buy a watch to match a strap that you purchased first? 馃え

I suspect that's not a real Omega strap, but for $60 it's not a big deal.

I have watches that I'm looking for straps to match for, but I don't think any of my watches fit 16mm (they seem to be 18mm). If I get this strap, I'll be in looking for a nice watch to match it, that takes the 16mm size. This is a case of putting the cart before the horse but for watches. 馃榾

Nothing about the watchband or buckle looks correct to me.

Also, there aren鈥檛 too many men鈥檚 Omega鈥檚 with 16mm lugs unless you go back to the early 1940鈥檚.

Be aware that watches that take 16mm straps are generally pretty small. Round watches of 30mm or less or very narrow tank watches.

And buckles on 16mm straps tend to be 14mm, perhaps even 13mm.

Appears to me somebody has a nice Embossing Press, and a stash of fake buckles

Hi, its should show something on the backside of the buckle like

"PLAQUE" , Sun Logo and SWISS"
or
"ACIERNOX, Watch Logo and SWISS"
or
"PLAQUE G, MBF Logo, Sun Logo and SWISS"

or similar.

Further to this the strap itself is too much filled out on the top side - so this kind of roundish format is not
OMEGA style for vintage straps, most of them are flat on the top side. Two very common OMEGA designs are either without any embossing or structure and looks "very odd/cheap", the other has a nice structure on top, and has a nice punch sequence like 1-2-1-2 and so on over the entire strap - so more racing strap type.

------------------------

I fully agree with the other comments - this is for a small watch - likely a womens watch or very early OMEGA

The front of the buckle looks correct to me but I agree, I鈥檇 expect the above engraving on the reverse.

If the seller really had come across 3 identical NOS Omega straps and buckles he would be selling them for more than $60 each, in my opinion.

Genuine buckles from that period are worth around $60. FWIW I do not think these buckles are genuine due to the lack of markings on the rear of the buckle.

14mm ones aren鈥檛 the same as 16mm as demand is much, much lower and therefore their value is much lower.

As an example, several 14mm buckles have sold on OF for around 拢20-30 so 拢60 may be about right
