In a facebook group, another guy told me that the dial should have the text Swiss Made at the lowest point, but this watch has nothing. Does that mean that the dial isn´t geuine?

Correct. It’s a redial. It appears to me that the hour and minute hands are also not original.

Maybe, but they don’t seem to match the aged look of the case and alpha hands from that era typically had radium based lume like those on my 1962 Seamaster 14389. Omega stopped using radium shortly thereafter.

The hands are not a matched pair in my opinion.

OK: Thankyou for the replies. I have got these pictures from a person who want to sell me this watch. How much does this repainted dial affect the value of the watch?

From a collector’s point of view, it’s huge - as in “don’t buy it.” For everyday wear, only you can determine what it’s worth. Look at eBay sold and completed listings for the same watch to get a general feel for the price range based upon condition. If you purchase the watch, you’ll be wanting to pay a price that is at the lower end of that range.

I'm not sure it's a re-dial. Need better photos with hands not blocking the logo and in better lighting.

Always appreciate your input, Dan. I’m thinking redial because there is no “Swiss” or “Swiss Made” on the dial, the crosshair lines appear too dark and too thick, and the minute track looks like it’s printed on the very edge - and in some spots almost over it - of the dial.

Some of those issues could be due to the use of the wrong crystal retaining ring. At first glance, the printing doesn't look bad to me (including the crosshairs) and the dial seems aged, so I don't want to write it off so quickly.

Does that mean that Omega also have produced original dials without the text Swiss Made? I can get this watch for $ 100.-

yes - depends on the era...

IMO the text is there but hidden under the crystal retaining ring

for the most part no they did not... well except for some fab suiss dials for the Fench. As @Dan S said it is possible that swiss made is on the dial, but it is obscured by an incorrect tension ring. Also something wonky is going on around the the outer end of the dial near the rehaut. LIke the dial is not touching the rehaut...

For 100usd its not horrible if you want something to wear. I'm going to assume it will need a service pretty quickly as the movement does not look clean.

I think that you could do a lot better by spending a few hundred dollars more and getting a watch in better condition that you will be really happy with. A bargain watch may not be such a bargain after you pay for a service, especially if parts are required. Plenty of good inexpensive buys recommended lately in this thread:

As noted, as long as you're prepared to pay for a service, $100 doesn't seem like a bad price at all. It isn't easy to find a SS Omega for that price, so I'd say it's worth a shot.

I think it's a no brainer at $100. Wear it for a while and gauge whether you want to spend more $ for a better/more original example. You won't have any problem selling the watch for more than $100 if you decide to go that route one day.
