Is this a fake Omega alligator strap?

This black alligator strap came with my aqua terra that I bought from grey dealer. I noticed that the number on it does not appear to line up with a 19mm black alligator strap when I google it (98000244). The logo looks suspect to me. Thoughts?

The watch itself is fine—full box and papers with master chronometer card that scans properly on the app.

If it's super stiff and uncomfortable, it's probably legit.

Yea I tended to wrap them around a wrist shaped watch box holder thing at slightly smaller than my wrist diameter to sort of shape them, and let them sit quite a while so they we're so bad when being worn. After they've taken your wrist shape they're not bad but breaking them in they can be pretty awful.

I'm going to agree with your assessment that it's not a genuine Omega strap. Ω logo is way too sassy. Reference number points to a dark brown strap. I'm guessing maybe it was a used watch with a heavily worn strap and the dealer was too cheap to plop down the $400 USD for the correct & genuine replacement strap.

Just make sure the watch itself is genuine. If it is, the strap replacement is an easy fix.

Thanks. Yeah, the watch is authentic. The serial on movement and case matches the cards included in the box, and the master chronometer card scanned by my phone brought up the test results for the watch with the same serial.

After more research, the inside of the strap is supposed to be the same dark blue as the outside where as yours is tan. You might want to check if the clasp is legit as well.

If you need the correct strap's part number, give me a week or two or call up an Omega Boutique. I lost my Omega dealer strap ordering guide/catalog with all the strap references during a move ☹️. Got a new one coming via snail mail.

That’d be great!

Looks like the correct strap with blue stitching that originally came with your watch is part number 032CUZ007785 (aka CUZ007785).

Alligator straps run about $410 new from Omega. The version with white stitching is from the non-gold version and there's another with a more vibrant blue from a sassy gold & diamond ladies version. There's also a blue fabric version from the standard steel AT that Omega sells for about $290 if you want to save a little money while having it look a little sportier.

FC = foldover clasp
STB = buckle

Thanks so much for doing this.
Frustrating since I was told watch was sold new, but the black strap I received doesn’t match the part number in the pictures.

Yeah, it sucks but not really surprising since leather straps wear quickly and absorb sweat but can't be rinsed off or disinfected w/ alcohol-based cleaners like straps made with more resilient materials. Can't tell you how many times I've bought a used watch on leather that come with rips/tears/cracks, stains, a stinky odor, a sticky feeling, and general cooties. Perhaps dealers assume customers would rather have a new non-original leather strap versus something disgusting.

Anyways, you have a lovely AT. Hope you get everything sorted out!
