^whats a hostage photo?

and dsio - budget is around 500$

some people refer to it as a proof of life photo and is very literal: a photo of the watch with something current like today's newspaper.

Are you married to Omega or are you just trying to get off on the right foot with an iconic vintage watch?

if it's the later not the former then don't even think about it and buy this http://bit.ly/17v1q66 watch right now. Right now. I wish I had someone like me to help me when I started. I have no connection to this watch or seller but it's a PERFECT first watch. You'll never get hurt on it and its beautiful. Good size too for nOobs who are always looking for bigger watches. This watch wears nice on the wrist because of the XL lugs and the high domed glass lens.

take the $201 you'll save and wait for one of the respected members of this forum to give up one of his "honeys" F/S.
I think they call 'em "secret squirrels".

There's nothing automatically wrong with all Singaporean sellers but you need to be very careful about two main things:

1. It is a very humid country and watch movements can suffer badly over decades of exposure to that climate, as can dials

This leads to

2. A lot of redials and a lot of revamped movements. Unfortunately most watches on the market have not been well done in either respect, so there is a very high proportion of watches with terrible redials and butchered movements.
