Is this a 145.012 movement in a 145.003 case?

I confess I bid to at 3,900. I went to view the watch and much of the damage was on the crystal and not the dial. The bracelet looked good. And the bezel looked good. Caseback all fine.
Considered higher sure, considering it was a short drive away. So no issues with shipping and insurance etc.

But again @Spacefruit called it for me. Shagged watches are fun when they are cheap.

The auction catalogue had this as there front page star attraction. It was never going to be cheap I felt. I did'nt even tune in as I did'nt want to get itchy fingers😀

Now to find an auction house not connected to the internet📖

I wish they'd start valuing things properly.... £800-£1200... lazy.
Its seems pretty standard these days. Most of the recent UK auctions on Ed Whites had the same valuation.
I note its been commented here before on other threads. The ploy of deliberately low balling to ensure that people are enticed in, and its the bait to get the crowd in.
I would go with a combination of lazy for some and deliberate for others. The larger auction houses appear better on the valuations.
I actually prefer the larger auction houses that focus entirely on watches.
Roll on Philips and Knightsbridge. Hopefully the star attractions provide the distractions. If nothing else, great fun to watch...🍿
As Confucius once said, never bet on lanes 5 and 6 at the Dog Track on a wet night. 😕
Well hopefully confusing if nothing else.

I think this is a boat that I have well and truly missed. 😉

You and me both! Even if I could justify the inflated price and the requisite slow, painful journey through the research minefield to acquire a nice older Speedmaster, I'd never be able to wear the damn thing without worrying about scratching or bumping it.
