I found this at an antique show. I’ve bought watches from the guy in the past but I’m not experienced enough to know what’s wrong with it. The case has plenty of patina so I know it’s not brand new but the di seems either fake or refinished as well as the hands. It has a 34 million serial number as well which it seems too late to me but again I’m no expert.

Looking forward to some expert opinions!

I don’t claim to be an expert on these by any means but even to me it looks like it was built using one of the fake kits (everything but the movement) that you can buy on eBay and Etsy.

I think that the movement is legit. 😁

That’s a modern fake kit, aged to look old. Only the movement is genuine I’m afraid.

Thanks for the replies, I didn’t buy it but out of curiosity what is something about that worth? He wanted 4000 US for it.

A few hundred for the movement.

He either had no clue it was a fake and got had or was hoping for an impulsive buyer with no clue

The latter IMO. Offering it for $4k suggests he knows it's not legit.

That reeks of someone trying to fleece an unsuspecting customer... I hope the watch you bought from him previously was better!
