Is there an Omega Spring Bar Reference somewhere?

Hi. I’m sometimes wondering if I’m using the correct spring bar when doing strap or bracelet swaps on Seamasters and Speedmasters. Is there any sort of chart or reference or rule of thumb for this? (Though I guess it could be quite complicated with different case numbers and bracelets.) In my situation they are all 20mm but there are different thicknesses and sometimes the slightly bent versions.

I did go to an Omega Boutique and asked for some extra, but when I was presented with many choices I figured I should research it a bit more. Any help is appreciated!

I've never seen a list, but if you ask about a specific watch, someone may give you the answer. 👍

There is a list.

Also, in general, leather straps use the labeled size, for example a 20mm bar in a 20mm gap. Bracelets use one 1mm smaller because the bar has to compress enough to fit inside the slot. So 19mm bars for the 20mm gap.

Not prudent advice in my opinion. Fine for lighter watches maybe. For tool watches/chronos/divers watches with 20 lugs use 20 springbars and others accordingly. If you tired of fiddle with it, still use 20 bars , but with a shorter body. There are all sorts of springbars out there. Longer, shorter, thicker, thinner bodies. For example, never use a shorter springbar as requested on a Ploprof..... Kind regards. Achim

Not my advice, that’s what Omega does. Obviously you can choose otherwise.

As noted, Omega disagrees. They use shorter bars for watches with bracelets as a standard practice, no matter the weight of the watch.

You are correct that there are all kinds of spring bars out there, so my advice is to use the best quality bars you can find - Omega bars fit that description.
