I find the Speedmaster 311.30.42.30.01.005 difficult to wind and am wondering if there is a different crown available that might make it easier to wind?
Nope. Omega has used the same crown since 1968 on these, so no other crowns are offered by Omega as options (that's not how Omega or any brand does things). You could likely find some generic crown that would work, and maybe be a bit longer.
There are manual watch winders available. Basically, it’s a tool to grip the crown in a long tube that you then rotate. If the crown is really that hard for you, might search around for one and give it a try.
The more you do, the better you get👍
Dexterity and improved fine motor skills come with practice. Besides, things will loosen up in time so it gets easier all round😀
I had the same issue with the same watch and that tool solves the problem.
I used to have cheap china made all metal winder of different sized which I stopped using because of the potential damage from metal head.
Also I found out that tool not help much for the screw in crowns of the rolex oyster cases.
I have a cheap one too, should upgrade to the one in the link above, I actually stopped wearing one of my watches because I couldn’t stand winding it. Plus it has a date window, the worst!
