(Talking Shit About Rolex)
Let鈥檚 see if one day you criticise the rolex perpetual 1908, superlative chronometer and a subdial marked in five second intervals, with the same confidence you show when talking about the omega observatory, metas and the lack of a seconds hand.
I just miss the lack of a seconds hand from an aesthetical perspective.
Precision doesn't bother me much.

Doble vara de medir dixit.
I don't remember any recent two handed Rolex.
Anyway, I like small seconds hands. My nomos for instance:

To criticize the 1908, one would have to THINK about the 1908, which would be a first for most.
That said: the 1908 has 12x the granularity of measurement than this one, so....
I think the reason for the criticism is far less nuanced that so many posters here are articulating. We knew Omega made great watches. Equal to or better movements than Rolex. We understood we were getting a great product at a reasonable price, sometimes half of what a comparable Rolex cost. However the recent price increases at Omega negated that advantage and made Omega less desirable because resale values are still far less than Rolex. Out "secret" of buying more for less is no longer viable.
Just my two cents, but this is a cost/value proposition issue and nothing more.
1908
Regarding all this negativity towards Omega--- it sure is amazing how rapidly it vanished and was replaced with extreme positivity due to the Artemis II mission.
It's gone from "Omega is trying to be Rolex" to "oh wait, Omega is actually doing Omega things" I'm pretty much every forum that I have seen, and people are excited. They want to know about these watches, they're curious, they think it's cool.
Publicity is a wild thing.
And then the DINGUSes in charge of Omega's marketting made sure that every Omega that went on Artemis is a variant you can't buy... Good job cancelling the X-33 right before the mission, eh?
A gray side and a speedy Pro went up though, and pictures of the Speedy Pro are everywhere
