Received this omega as a gift yesterday, but can’t find anything about. So i’m curious if it’s legit and what model it is.

Hello,

Unfortunately the dial has been poorly redone, you should check with whoever gifted this to you if this could be returned or not

Fake. Not gold, not an Omega. Worthless.

Interesting read. Didn't know a real Omega cost as much as $150 back then. My boss told me when he got his job in 1972 after college, he was paid $1300/mo. That's quite a few Omegas.

I'm 99.9% certain it's a LINGS 21 PRIX,NOS from the 1950s converted to an Omega.

It's basically worthless. Sorry.

In Italy, scammers sold these watches at highway service stations in the 60/70s

Yeah, it's way off. A really bad redial for sure, as others have pointed out. But hey, it was a gift.

Not a redial. No part of that watch ever saw the inside of the Omega factory.

We call that a counterfeit.

Fair point, that's more what I meant.

C’mon, surely service stations would be the obvious best place to buy genuine quality watches!

Yeah I might just pop down to the local BP boutique to buy a gold Flightmaster!

The sales assistant who takes care of all the watch sales is sitting in that white car where the watches are kept and the transactions are done, apparently they don’t have enough room in the building

Where is this gas station? The BP in my area is 295.9 unleaded, a whole dollar more.

Just today I filled the Ute up at $1.959 in a Clayton which is a suburb of Melbourne, in the state of Victoria, which itself is in Australia.
Prices can vary widely across the country.
That’s A $1.959 per litre, I gather you’re in the US as you referred to it as “gas” and not petrol, so at US $2.959 per US gallon, you’d need to factor in the currency exchange rate and multiply 1 US gallon x 3.785412 to convert to litres…….it’s not quite the bargain that got you all excited is it!
😁

Those prices are probably per liter in some unknown currency, and we don't know how old the picture is. The devil is in the details.

That Aussie price is about US$5.01 per gallon, no bargain there. I paid US$2.37 per gallon earlier today here in central Texas.
