I recently purchased this 2652-7 Constellation from a local seller. I am excited as I have wanted an arrowhead markers Constellation for a long time.

However I am not too sure about what I got. I would love to hear your expert opinions about it, here is my newbie assesment :

  • Hands and crown seem correct
  • Plexi seems to have the correct shape but has no logo engraved
  • Sharp case with correct caseback
  • Cal 354 movement in the 13mil range dates it circa 1953
  • Clean dial (black particles are under the crystal not on the dial itself) but I'm not sure if it is a redial or not. Minute track doesn't seem perfect but it could be because of the waffle dial and age as I have seen such flaws on other dials I believe to be original. What bothers me the most is the "swiss made" at 6 is only visible from a specific angle, but maybe it is because of a wrong rehaut or crystal.

I made a bit of a gamble as the watch isn't working, I would like to have your opinion before commiting to send it for a service and trying to source a bracelet.

Many thanks

For me, the dial was redone.

Try to notice the excess ink, particularly around the base of the letter ‘l’ as well as around the letter ‘a’, ‘t’, and ‘n’.

A closer picture of my 2652 with the black waffle dial. Note the difference. 😀

Thanks for the input. It makes sense, I was tricked by the waffle dial.
I still dig the look of the watch so I will probably just enjoy it when feeling like wearing something dressy.
