    What do you think?
I bought it online at auction without paying close attention. Now I see uneven script at Omega and Automatic (the Ms especially), an unusual "Seamaster" (cross of the t higher than the top of the s, clumsy r) and swiss made without serifs.

    Here's the whole watch:

My noob opinion-yes, it’s a redial, all the things you said are correct. Can you return it?

Was it described as having an original dial?

No, it's a small auction house in the SW of England and they gave a very generic description. They don't specialize in watches. In my defence, it looked dirty and had a scratched crystal on the pictures. Here is one:

And no, I can't and I wouldn't return it. I've already had a full service done by Christian, (watchguy.co.uk) whose pics I have posted above. Besides, I am still not absolutely certain it's a redial. My opinion at the moment is that it is more likely than not.

It is a good looking redial. If you hadn’t pointed out the things you did I wouldn’t have noticed at first glance. The M in Automatic is the only big
tell, and that’s only to people who are looking for it.
I am in the camp that just because it’s a redial doesn’t mean it’s trash. I have two that have been redialed and I think they are gorgeous and I paid far less for them then original examples and still get the pleasure of wearing them. As long as the price was fair, don’t sweat it. I see plenty of declared redials go for decent money when sold, so it’s not like you’re only gonna get $4 if you decide to move it on.
The 166.010 is a great watch, enjoy it!

The pictures aren't the best but, I would have expected it to look like this one I sold. The fonts don't look correct on your dial but, still looks a nice old watch:thumbsup:

    Cheers, Chris

I just took a look at several 166.010s and in fact yours differ. Also the Omega "E" looks off.

From the auction house picture I also would have bought it.

Did you ask Christian what he thinks about it?

Good redial as said above, you can wear it without feeling too bad I think

Nice BOR, is it marked correctly and also the end links?

Yes, there is nothing similar out there, you're right. Most are marked like the one @ChrisN mentions above (very nice watch, BTW). Haven't asked Christian yet, I'll do that.
BOR and end links are correct, at least...
