Yes IMHO. Indeed I am thinking about getting my first GMT - and struggling :) among these 3:

I would agree that the answer is yes. Quality is getting better and design is sure as hell getting better. A great watch which offers great bang for the buck:thumbsup:

I always thought GS were great value for money.. But none of them "stuck" and I sold them as my interest waned

    Until this one.

I was really impressed of the Grand Seiko Snowflake when I could play with it for an hour, sadly I have the impression that Seiko is raising it's overall prices over all lines.

So, what does it take to make Seiko have a thread of on its own?

just began considering them, and after looking at the case thickness of the sbgr 053, ive changed my mind. Seikos have always been bulky to me for no good reason. almost overbuilt in a way

They’ve never been less than high end. Their watches are of superlative quality; had I not just bought a new 300m Diver, I’d have been buying either their quartz GMT (+/-5s a year is no joke), the spring drive diver, or the snowflake. They’re beautiful pieces, which as someone else said, are quite right not trying to be Swiss.

To me, GS is higher quality watch comparing to the competitors in the same price range.
GS keep making some very interesting dials. I have got a few and enjoy them a lot.
The only thing I don't like is they have too many limited editions, just like Omega.

Agree with the comments regarding too many LEs… I would rather see those LE as just another dial design, and their desirability compare to the "regular" versions would depend solely on the dial design. The "Limited Edition" tag has pretty much lost its value.

I have to admit, I never, ever, ever liked GS... until now. And now I have 2, and a third on order.

They've definitely gotten better (or, at the very least, started to make watches I wanted / cared about).

I like them but I just can’t bring myself to pay nearly $10k (Aussie) for a time only watch. I don’t doubt the quality but I still struggle to associate the price point with the brand when you can get an equivalent JLC, Glashütte Original etc. in the same price range.

IMO GS improved some details so their products look better now

They're trying to market GS as a premium brand by separating GS from Seiko imo. Furthermore they've just opened the Grand Seiko corporation of America only recently. So I'm thinking they're pushing for higher brand awareness amongst customers, and ultimately a bigger piece of the pie. You never know this might just be the start for them. The new USA edition SBGA387 in the ice blue dial is to die for.

The only complaint I have for GS is that I makes me look to wrist twice in a row because I always forgot to check the time when I look at the dial!

Nice watches, thanks all for posting!

But what about the movements? Does someone have any pic? (To me, talking about high end surely implies to talk about movements, and not only accuracy.)
