In this case the "meme" image was the other half of @Meme-Dweller 's avatar, so it felt appropriate... 😎 but I'll keep it to a minimum in the future.

Omega will have to produce a version with the Starship on the subdial

I'm sure this is going to be a hilarious thread! I don't think Omega had a good thought behind this release. RJ may shed some light on it's relevance...

Raynald's holidays aren't going to pay for themselves you know - won't someone think of the cost of a two week look 5 star stay in the Maldives?!

CEO life ain't easy.

A quien le guste, que compre. A quien no le guste, que no compre. A quien odie este speedmaster o a la propia omega, que reviente.

Saved some money today. Thanks Omega!

Lol that was my first thought seeing today's release as well. Hope those that like this watch get one without having to wait years with a depsoit and going through multiple price increases along the way...

Also strange that they choose to get rid of the luminouscent bezel and crown. I like this feature on my Apollo 8.

Me too.

This is a puzzling release for me, and the rocket hand reminds me a bit of those Timexes sold on Hodinkee with “irreverent” seconds hands in bright colours.

But it is consistent with Omegas recent philosophy of upgrading movements / bracelet / whatever and charging 40-50% more.

Now sort of dreading a possible 2024 SMP 300 Diver “refresh.”

seconde-seconde called and they want their idea back...

The rocket seconds hand is cool...but sorta gimmicky.

"The backside, however, shows the “dark side” of the Moon that astronauts saw for the first time in 1968."

I know I'm being pedantic, but the astronauts saw the 'far side' of the moon for the first time. Bugs me.

And… enter a Far Side and moon joke

Someone reported this thread saying I’ve encouraged negativity or something, I actually bought at full msrp the original and think it’s awesome and like the new one too, especially the 3D design of the Saturn V second hand. So I disagree with most of you but then I also think the silver dial Apollo XVII is a great watch and love Vegemite so different strokes for different folks.

LOL what a trash release. Why make such fanfare over minor updates. At least throw in a ceramic bracelet or something.

The last real limited numbered release was the Tokyo 2020 Speedmaster series in 2018. Since then we've had the limited production Snoopy, and the small 321 line, which are refreshing but are hard to get, but other than that it's been a wasteland for Speedmaster fans. Omega is going for the new, never owned an Omega demographic customer. Pre 2020 is where the interest is now, at least for me.

Dont forget the Speedy Apollo 11 50th Anniversary watches in Moonshinegold and Steel, these were the last real limited editions - but you are right, these LE-heavy times had been more interesting.

Make enough variations and there is always one for everyone’s tastes.

This is just a basic modern up to the original with a few tweaks.

Members should be viewing it as a modern up instead of a new release they were hoping for.

(The Problem with Snoopy 3.0 there was more who wanted it then Omega was ever going or could make)

Damn, 44.25mm and 50mm lug to lug? I was expecting at least 45mm and 52mm lug to lug. C'mon Omega, you got so close to perfection....

Wait someone reported your own negativity to you? Are you going to give yourself a stern talking to and maybe a timeout on the naughty step?
