Can't decipher all the writing on the movement
s-l1600-jpg.1420279

Thinking about this just for the signed crown and removing gold plating but would the underlying metal be ss or plain steel?

I think the text on the movement is just the usual text we would expect to see on a chronometer movement.

In this case "Adjusted Five Positions & Temperature".

Thanks, it has the other hallmark of being a chronometre, numbered movement but lacks any such insciption on the dial. I suppose this makes it a franken.
Can anyone enlighten me on my question about the crown?

Anyone else spotted another problem taking this on as a project? Apart from the missing balance and hands and the lack of "Chronometre" on the dial?
The hacking mechanism is missing although the screww holes can be seen on the movement.Cf a complete movement.

So I've taken on a project. The RR cost me more than i hoped, 1 bidder was obviously very intersted but I gritted my teeth and got it.Any advice in sourcing the missing bits would be much appreciated.
I've seen the hacking mech. on ebay in the past. Apparently it was an addon to the original movement, hoping my watchmaker can make it but its not essential for the watch to work. balance... looks like 3 are available on ebay. Hands...I will be happy with good matches.
If all goes well I will have a dial and a signed crown going spare.
