Could be the lighting, but mine has stainless furniture and yours has gold?
The gold looking furniture was one of the best things I noticed when I was wearing it in the sun, they really flashed a gold like look and I was wondering if it was real gold so thanks for telling me about the difference which I had not noticed. I am still getting used to using the Omega Vintage Search page but hopefully that may reveal something about my watch. Not many have numerals when I tick all the relevant boxes and try cal 560, 561, 552 et al.

That database has never really been accused of being comprehensive or 100% accurate. It’s good, but this forum is better 😎

I agree, this forum is a mine of real information with much better pictures of watches! Can you tell me if your watch has the same symbol as mine which looks like this. Thanks for your help!
I just realised that the symbol I had prepared to be perpendicular to the plane of the watch face is upside down....erghh.

That is the newer version of the Omega symbol which came into use around 1967. So I believe it is a genuine Omega crown, but just a later replacement. It was designed to fit your watch, it just has a subtle differences. To be honest, I would not worry about it. The crown does not look out of place on the watch to me at all.

See:
