So I have four current 3861s, Snoopy 50, white, FOIS and Hesalite. I'm ocd so I keep them wound and running. I wind them every 48 hours, +/- an hour here and there. They usually take 70-80 twists (very unscientific measurement), with the bergeon tool. The interesting thing is that the Snoopy usually takes a few more, and so does the one I wore that day. I never run the chronos either. Just an observation.

I go through my manual winds about once a month. There is a finite amount of cycles the mainspring can handle before they wear out / break. Cross this with keeping the oil "flowing" = once a month(ish). Why keep all the watches running all day every day when I'm not wearing.

That said, they still break.
