Genève’s don’t work for followers 😁

Somehow, they create more likes than my Speedies. But they might just be particularly unpleasant examples - or I just don’t know my audience. Maybe both, come to think of it.

See a few sellers that follow me are always posting items for sale on their stories but without prices.
If I have to contact them to ask the price I guess they don’t know how lazy I am.

One or two websites I have had a look at from Instagram sellers usually end up with me closing thinking. “ what planet are these guys on thinking that watch is worth that much let alone half that “

On the other hand I have bought tonnes of stuff from guys on Instagram for knife making.
Stabilised wood for scales - several sites in Australia
Bog-oak for scales - Russia area
Knife blanks - Poland
Knife scale liners -Texas
Colourful Resin blocks - USA (these guys are hard core stoners making mega $s)
Mosaic pins - Canada
Carbon fibre for scales - Latvia

Find it a great place to follow knife makers and learn tips and tricks from knife makers all over the world who are happy to show there processes. This is part of growing there business where they sell heaps of knives mostly as quick as they can make them.

Related to the topic, I always try to reach the seller directly, once found a Japanese seller on IG, from the "contact" links on their website, sent messages to 2 accounts, no replies and not read, it was a really rare watch, a must buy for me, ended up not buying it after I realised the seller was very rough on Chrono24, his asking price was way over customs limits and no matter what alternative I suggested, he turned down, it sold for a lot less than my offers months later

Similarly, found an Indonesian seller on Instagram, the profile is a small watch related profile, sent a message to again buy a watch I really want and will pay way over market value, no reply and not read ...

My point? Sometimes even just being present on Instagram and checking the messages could lead to sales 😀

My terrible redialed polished Connie regularly got compliments and many likes on IG, so maybe I'm in the same boat. That being said, the watch that got me my subtitle here is one of the ones that gets the most love on my IG. Whatevs!

Hi Achim, I’ve sold a few watches via IG. In my opinion, it’s a good way to get them in front of more eyes. I’ve had people who were tagged in my posts by their friends contact me. I’ll normally direct them to my listing on the forum so they can see more photos and read my detailed descriptions.
