·The fact that this is a chronograph movement would naturally mean it's higher priced, so it's not comparing apples to apples. But yes retail is approx. 17% higher than the L1...not that much...
But clearly what matters to people varies, so if this lack of finishing doesn't bother you, then that's all that matters to you.

In terms of pricing, I never look at MSRP. Currently, on watchrecon the cheapest Patek chronograph is 41k USD. The cheapest L1 is 16.5k. Significant difference.
Obviously price doesn’t always equate to quality. But perhaps in some circumstances, maybe even this one, it does. And this is coming from someone who loves Lange.
And like you said, there’s a lot more than just movement finishing that goes into why we choose to buy a watch. I personally love the design aesthetic of Lange, much more than any modern Patek. I completely agree with you.
