Inherited a seamaster

Hello, can anyone tell me much about this watch, unfortunately has no back, but works fine when I wind it.
Has no sentimental value, my Mum and Dad found it on the side of the road about 20 years ago when out walking brought it home and stuck it in a box with other old watches.

It's actually a pretty nice watch, circa 1959 if I'm reading the serial number correctly. Too bad about the missing case-back.

Your mom and dad were walking on a journey of this world together when they found it. I hope they still are. That, to me, makes it a very sentimental watch. There will come a day, perhaps already passed, that they no longer will. Hold on to it…but my view of this journey has added value when walked with one you love. Sentimental to me, indeed.

Looks like a reference 2849. Nice with gold furniture. Too bad about the caseback.

Hi, no both now gone sadly. This is the watch with sentimental value for me, Dads first watch a Buren.

Is it still possible to get a back for the Seamaster?

I imagine that a case back can be found. Members with far more experience than me will be more knowledgeable in that quest. Good luck!
