I have to say, that was nearly as satisfying as anything I accomplished as a competitive archer. 馃榾

A comforting thought as you put up your tent in the back yard then light the Coleman stove to cook your supper for tonight 馃榿

Actually that wouldn't get me in trouble, but when I did point out that she was a little too predictable what area of the court she would hit to, that didn't go over too well. Mind you, I am trying to help her game, but since we have been rallying only with each other during the pandemic, we are very used to each other's playing patterns. I just tend to be a little better at mixing it up.

After I said that though, she started changing her patterns and it worked pretty well for her. She grew up playing tennis, and I only started around 5.5 years ago after having a heart attack, so she has me at a bit of a disadvantage.

And I'll be making dinner for both of us tonight I suspect. 馃憤

Never ventured in to watches, spent my years working for military designing electronics for all sorts of airplanes. 737 747 f22 f18 my specialty was power printed circuit boards high voltage and 400 amps. I can appreciate anyone who can take a complicated watch apart and put it back. With me after it was reassembled there would be parts left over. lol

Working with aero technology and you apparently own an E-type?

@ChrisN, have you started a new account for trolling? 馃榿

Don't worry about the terminology. Just don't call me late for dinner, and we are good. 馃榾

As noted, the scratches in the case back are made by watchmakers to enable them to track their work for warranty purposes. This is a practice that is not longer done (by most anyway) as it is seen as damaging a customer's watch. There are far better ways of knowing if you have serviced a particular watch.

Cheers, Al
thanks seems like a lot of notes scratched

@mrbob - it's just a joke that I was (and probably always will be) an Aircraft Engineer, I own a 3.8FHC and am now working as a watchmaker. Quite a few Engineers with an interest in horology on this forum.

Sorry to hear you had to sell your E and I hope the watch restoration is everything you wanted.

Cheers, Chris

I've known people who've suffered strokes and they can be debilitating. I hope you are stable with life now.

Yes, that's my car and, I've just realised that you had an original Mini as well. I also own one... Mine is a road car, though. I have just stripped it for some remedial bodywork and it'll be off the road for some months.

Will look for the pictures of your watch.馃憤

Best wishes, Chris

What year is your 3.8 fhc ?
1963, August or October - I don't recall the exact month. I bought mine in 1999 and still enjoy it greatly.

Cheers, Chris

I have some mini parts left if you need any let me know. old mrk1 and 11 side windows and sliders and rear windows and boxes of engine parts and small parts. your's for the shipping the mini was driven by Innes Ireland in the 1962 races at Mosport when he was there for the f5000 it raced in the trans am series in the 60's I raced the mini for 20 years rebuilt it and sold her for 40k. she is still racing in California , the moke was just a fun case. it could beat almost any car out there won races against many big ground pounder trans am cars as for the stroke yes getting better can see now and get around so consider myself lucky.
