Good evening,

my local watchmaker offered me an Omega Automatic watch. Allthough I really enjoy the look of the dial, I couldn‘t find any information of the watch on the web nor pictures of another example of this one.
What the watchmaker told me:
- it‘s from 1946
- Automatic Bumper Mov.

Unfortunately I only have pictures of the dial so far: Will try to get more pictures.
Any help on this watch is appreciated, eg reference, opinions, etc. Also what‘s your opinion on the dial itself? It does look authentic to me but I am no expert.

Thanks for your help.

Dial looks good to me. Actually, one of the better ones I’ve seen from the late 1940’s.

Since the seller is a watchmaker, there should be no issues in getting pictures of the inside of the case and movement.

Then we will be better equipped to help.

Looking good indeed 👍
The reference should be on the inside of the caseback
Now if you don't mind, telling us the price would help assessing how much of a good deal it is or not 😉

The quality remains once the price is forgotten.

But tell us the price anyway.

IMHO looks like ref 2375

Looks like you are right. Found another example with the reference online. Thanks!

@all: What's your opinion on the pricing? 1.800 seems to be a bit on the high end but the watch appears to be in excellent shape.

$2,100 seems very high for a watch like this, even in excellent condition.

However, in the world of rare coins, this would be considered a "Condition Rarity", and might be worth it to the right collector.

Questions I would be asking are:

1. Does the condition of the movement match that of the rest of the watch?
2. Has the watch been serviced recently? Can this be shown by some sort of documentation?
3. Does an Extract of the Archives exist for this watch?

If all that checks out, then it is worth the time to start negotiations.
