Hey guys,

Happy New Year to everyone. Today I came across this Seamaster with the Chronometre Oficially Certified appearing in the lower part of the dial. The case seems to be gold and it seems to me that it is from the 1950s. The pics are pretty bad but I would like to hear your thoughts and some info regarding that watch as I havent seen that model around.

It鈥檚 a solid gold Seamaster Chronometre from the early 50s. Should have either a 352 or a 354 movement, probably 2577/2520 case but could be something else.

Dial seems to be in poor condition.. crown incorrect.. but most importantly, what am I seeing on the top lugs? Significant wear from a poor fitting or spring-loaded bracelet perhaps?

Almost looks like a gold bar was soldered between the lugs? Anyways she sure is a survivor and if it was cheap enough I wouldn't have a problem owning it 馃憤

Thanks a lot for the responses! Besides what you mentioned also the seconds hand does not look correct to me.. Is that the case?
Finally based on the reference and the condition of the watch what would be considered a fair price?

Second hand is probably fine - sometimes these chronometres came with a blued second hand.

I鈥檓 not going to give my thoughts on price without more info - I recommend you have someone open it to determine if it鈥檚 14k or 18k and also if it鈥檚 a 352 or a 354. The value also depends a lot on dial condition which is a bit hard to tell from these photos.

Second hand is likely correct - look at where the second track is.

value cannot be judged with any accuracy without a clear photo of the movement, but the degraded dial and scratched case will keep it well below that of a better example.
