Hi, just discovered this subforum...

A couple of years ago I bought this watch at "el rastro" in Madrid...

Is it real ? Any idea of age/value ?

BTW: It works great !

Many thanks for the help.

Real? Yes. A nice looking caliber 18.79N from around 1930. The case is silver and the hallmarks and "A" on the movement indicate that it was originally sold in France. Demand for pocket watches like this is low so value is around 100 euros.

Many thanks for your quick reaction !
I paid 70 euros for it. So I guess it's OK.

i bought it because of the condition. I am not a collector of pocket watches, but this one looked nice with the decorated movement...

I am surprised at how well it runs considering the obvious age.

BTW: Where's the "A" on the movement you mention ?

Thanks again.

While the demand for these pocket watches is not high, the quality certainly is. As you have noted, the movement is very well made and nicely finished. It is a great watch for 70 euros. See the "A" below.
