Unless you own multi-complication (automatic) watches like perpetual calendars with moon phase indicators and everything, I just don't see the point. A waste of space, energy, money as well as being rather ugly looking, watch winders are probably the last thing in this hobby I'd sink money into.

My Zenith Defy is hard to set as the crown is spring-loaded and the time-setting position is #2, not #3 like my Omegas. It's difficult to get the crown into the right position to set the watch. I put it in my Diplomat winder that's working.

Are the rotations timed and numbered or does it just constantly rotate?

its on one of those cheapo mechanical indoor timers for your lights and such.

It doesn't have to be a watch with lots of complications. Just try re-setting the date on an Explorer II. Even if it's a watch that has a quick set date, it's a right royal pain in the arse to have to reset them if you're going to wear half a dozen or more watches a week.

I bought a really nice winder on Craigslist. Wound 4 watches and slots for six more. More hassle than it was worth. Sold it yesterday on Craigslist.

Was lucky and snagged a Wolf single winder for $15 from a local lady. But I find myself not using it for my personal watches, rather mostly using it to test watches that I buy to flip on eBay. I have a grab'n go Megaquartz in the morning, and I set the watch I actually want to wear at work after my 1st coffee. I get to bond with the watch and reduce the wear and tear of a watch winder.
