    Hi all,

Thought I'd share this with you. A source of Inexpensive watchwinders in the UK.

    http://watch-winder.co.uk/

I am not affiliated with these guys in any way, and the pics below are my unit I bought to house my expanding collection.

I have been so impressed with it, for the reasonable outlay.

    84FCD103-FF07-4F37-9995-459F2B0F12F9.JPG D24A33E6-2831-42B6-A4A6-CCFE86B6E517.JPG 35FFAC6C-D320-4C9A-A486-AA3FAE4D6015.JPG

As you can see, there's room for four automatics, and two watches that do not need to be wound in the draw below. There's also a space for extra straps. The main chamber has a hinged, transparent door to keep the dust out, and has a light that you can choose to be on or off when you open the door etc. It also has the control panel where you can individually program the turns per day and direction of each turntable. The turntables will stop when the door is opened, so you can retrieve a watch without turning the whole unit off. It even comes with a remote control! :)

The motor that drive it are silent... or as silent as they can be. This is on my nightstand, next to the bed and I can't hear it when it's on and I'm trying to sleep.

All this for the princely sum of £170.

Ok - you're not getting a leather lined interior, nor is the case made of unobtainum (it's piano lacquered wood) - but it does the job, and appears to be the exact same model as some other outlets are selling for over three times as much.

    Hope that helps someone.

    Jason.

Looks great! I need a new winder as my eBay special died. Too bad they don't sell or ship to the States.

Im sure you could find one. They're all made in China, after all... ;)

I found this with a quick search on the US eBay

It's not the exact model, but is very similar.

Has anyone seen Dr Stange? He opens his drawer to a load of watches on winders, if only I was rich lol

Yes - but how did that work? Surely the rotors in the watches need to be able to drop... if they're laid on their backs in a draw, no amount of turning would wind them. :whistling:

Unless you own multi-complication (automatic) watches like perpetual calendars with moon phase indicators and everything, I just don't see the point. A waste of space, energy, money as well as being rather ugly looking, watch winders are probably the last thing in this hobby I'd sink money into.

Personally I like to grab my watches in the go.
I'm too lazy to constantly have to wind and set my watches hahaha

Well, it's your choice, I just don't get it :)

Hope that all your automatics are serviced, otherwise they are in for quite the torture regime :p

Yes - they usually want you to buy them by the container load...

It didn't think it was that expensive - when you think about it, it winds 3 times as many watches as mine, and is just over three times the price. I bet the company that makes mine does 12 rotor ones, they're just not for sale over here.

That's why you narrow the search down to orders which have 1 piece minimums ;)
